Enhancement in E-Learning by Using Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Najma Ismat Ahsan, Rabia Enam.

Mobile ad hoc network is the collection of mobile, wireless nodes, which cooperatively forms a network with out any fixed infrastructure. The ease of MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) is that they provide continuous network connectivity to mobile computing devices irrespective of their geographical location. They are used in places where it is difficult to provide network connectivity or places where network is formed temporarily like in conferences, sport stadiums or incase of emergency etc. The web based teaching or e-learning or e-education program can be expanded and services available for the students can better be utilized if it provides access to its resources through wireless means. Researches have been made primarily on routing issues of MANET and, the effect on the performance of MANET due to constant change in topology, but very little work has been done that how the resources available in MANET can be utilized. This paper primarily focuses on how the services available in ad hoc networks can be used in e-education program to facilitate its students to get better utilization of its resources.
