Youth Re-Engaging with Learning

Sally Leavold.

This paper will examine the reasons why young people who left school early and have not completed their schooling but return to a TAFE environment have difficulty re-engaging with learning.

It will look at young people in the TAFE environment and the need to look beyond our current approach of increasing curriculum options and take a closer look at how young people perceive themselves as young adults and as learners and how we as educators need to include this in our program design.
