Preparing the 1st Year Higher Education Student Mindset for the Knowledge-based Era

Cheryl Mallen.

The world is changing and students must be prepared for their venture into an inherently different era. Preparation provided today may affect the success rate of each student in the knowledge-based era of change. Yet, the exploration of the foundational components, that represent the changing times and can be presented across a wide range of first-year higher education course offerings, is still in the infancy stage. However, it is hypothesised that the basic constructs of the knowledge-based era can be determined and infused across a wide range of courses, along-side the current course content. The aim is to provide students with a mindset for new world success.
