  Abstract:

One hundred frequently used words in English make up, on average, half the words used in reading. Research in cognitive psychology and accelerated learning highlight many different and exciting ways to explicitly teach this essential list of words. Children are mastering these words quicker than ever before through honouring different learning styles and employing techniques that rapidly enhance learning. Marcella is an Education Consultant and Psychologist whose new literacy manual and game M100W Magic 100 Words has recently been published and released in Australia. This exciting interactive session involves fun and entertainment for participants as they gain a rich theoretical understanding of the concepts of accelerated learning, explore interesting teaching strategies and experience new learning centre activities to rapidly enhance their students mastery of the Magic 100 Words.
