The Power of More Than One Sharing Leadership Around

Karen Modoo

Robinvale Consolidated School, Australia

Over the past ten years the "tried and true" of conventional education has been sorely tested ~ and since school's have always been appropriate for the times society's and the individual need it is long overdue that educators reflect on their needs and those of the members of their learning communities in this electronic / ecological / spiritual age. Motivating educators to change and embark upon the restructuring / regeneration of their school community is a significant challenge. However, the development of high performance teams with outstanding personal and collective outcomes can be achieved by daring to step "outside the box" and challenging the constraints of convention. By developing a "Gung Ho" culture ~ Chinese for "Working together" ~ through sharing a dream, enabling individuals to have control over how they work towards achieving the dream and being supported and valued along the way by others, liberates educators to respond with initiative and creativity to the challenges of education in the 21C.
