| Abstract: | |||
This workshop explores a number of "sneaky" ways to scaffold students who experience difficulties in literacy and learning how to learn. The strategies are embedded within secondary classroom programs and are applicable to all subject areas. A planning framework is considered to show the sequence of scaffolding beginning with the assessment instrument design to the orientation phase and then on to the enhancement of the subject matter and the crucial language demands of the outcomes expected of students. The workshop will interest classroom teachers and preservice teacher educators. |
