Warren Crichlow

Professor of Education, York University, Toronto, Canada

 

Brief Biography

Warren Crichlow, currently a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Language and International Studies, RMIT University (Melbourne), is Associate Professor of Education and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Education, York University, Toronto, Canada. His recent research and writing has focused on cultural theory in education and artistic practice in relation to learning and the pedagogical context. Publications have included a co-edited book, RACE, IDENTITY AND REPRESENTATION IN EDUCATION, special quest co-editor of CULTURAL STUDIES on "Toni Morrison and the Curriculum." He has recently contributed a chapter on popular culture and music in the films of Isaac Julien in the anthology, SOUND IDENTITIES (New York, Peter Lang, 2000).
