Abstract

The popularity of the internet has resulted in a technological revolution in education. Lectures, research, courses, and entire college degrees are delivered on the web. This presentation discusses the experience of a college teacher and his use of the web in the classroom.

Dr Xavier McClung has utilized the web by conducting four web-enhanced courses at Valdosta State University. He describes his experiences, from the apprehensive stage to the proponent stage, in the delivery of web-enhanced courses. The use of the web can support regular classroom instruction at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Dr McClung will describe the servers he has used, and the procedure for setting up a web-enhanced or a web-based course. Dr McClung has used in-house servers and free vendor-supplied servers.
