Research Associate, Research Center for School Education, Naruto University of Education, Tokushima, Japan Dr Machiko Sannomiya Professor, Research Center for School Education, Naruto University of Education, Tokushima, Japan Student's Personal Traits and Effectiveness of Computer-Mediated Communication in Learning Abstract: 1) One of the most critical factors is copresence (copresent/non-copresent) with others. 2) The effect of copresence depends on students' personal traits. Some students report that they can express their thoughts through e-mail, and that they cannot express through FFC. It suggests the possibility that troubles students feel in FFC can be compensated by CMC. We emphasize that CMC can not only compensate the spatial and temporal gap, but also resolve the problem of stress in FFC which is caused by psychological gap. Bionote __________ Presentation Type |
