Intersectoral Education: Opportunity or Threat?
Intersectoral education assists in the process
of seamless education and the provision of lifelong learning.
This is a sound educational and financial concept for educational
institutions. Recent theory suggests poor integration of the
two sectors (Technical and Further Education and Higher Education)
runs counterproductive to building on their similarities which
can be described as boundary spanning. This paper reflects on
the implementation of a dual sector graduate certificate course
at an Australian university. Boundary spanning needs to increase
to cause successful intersectoral strategy implementation. The first presenter works in both educational sectors that will be discussed in this paper. He believes he is a boundary spanner that creates new learning opportunities. He has a background in Human Resource Management.
