Pre-Service and In-service Training with ISTE: International Society for Technology in Education

Abstract

Supported by a million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Seton Hall University's College of Education and Human Services designed models that illustrate effective ways to support in-service teacher training in technology applications for curriculums. The models diminish the information technology gap associated with in-service teacher training programs and show how to utilize the placement of pre-service teachers in school districts working to increase information technology applications in the curriculum. The workshop illustrates pre-service performance tasks that support ISTE standards for all teachers. Last, the workshop illustrates effective collaborative technology rich, projects between cooperating teachers and interns for elementary/middle school grades.
