Jan Parkes

Abstract

My paper would begin by explaining the starting point of five years age (1995) of where our college was at with Learning Technologies. I would fully explore all the challenges; the planning and remarkable progress made over five years. I would also explore our next three year plan of where we will be by 2003.

The challenges evolve around -

  • Finance and continued funding
  • Equipment and access
  • Policy development and Curriculum Development
  • Staff Upskilling and training and overcoming resistance
  • Partnerships and Sponsorships
  • Value added opportunities for all stakeholders
  • The Challenges of being ahead of the pack.
  • The outcome has been to create a computer literate generation of young people ready to take up global challenges and opportunities for the new millennium.
