AbstractLiterature on CALL (computer assisted language learning) evaluates software in general terms but there is a gap in classroom based research in New Zealand and overseas, that documents English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students' own comments on what they are learning and how they are learning it. This paper presents the findings of case study research of four ESOL students' at UNITEC Institute of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand who access in class time the CALL software 'Issues in English'. Metacognitive aspects of students' learning, their attitudes, descriptions and reflections on the software will be reported on. |
