Learning and Information Technologies: The Internet, Multimedia and Learning to Access InformationElizabeth Dieter, Consultant, Association of Independent Schools of NSW. AbstractThis paper will present projects conducted in a number of independent schools throughout NSW during 1996 and 1997 in the area of critical information skills. The projects, based on an action research model, explored the information skills of students and their use of the various technologies available in each school as sources of information. The schools participating in the projects explored the use of the Internet and CDRoms as well as traditional 'hard text' sources of information. This paper will highlight the findings of each school and how this action research helped to develop models for integrating information skills across al KLAs. |
